about big up films
Our workshops are a fun and educational experience that also helps to build confidence, improve teamwork and allow participants to express themselves creatively through the medium of film.
Participants work on genres such as drama, documentary, oral history or experimental film. We’ve found the workshops help strengthen communities and are especially beneficial for under represented and disadvantaged people. Each workshop is unique and is designed specifically for the group’s needs and interests. Each workshop starts with warm up session and ends in a feedback session. This allows us to constantly improve and monitor our workshops.
We have a team of skilled professionals that can work alongside Sheena and Peggy to incorporate animation, drama, music, urban arts, video art, storytelling, stage fighting, set design, costume and make-up, DVD cover design and web design. On specialist projects we have youth workers, drug and alcohol counsellors, sexual health advisers and career and education advisers. All employees are CRB checked.
our equipment
We work with state of the art digital equipment such as Sony cameras, Seinnheiser sound kits and Apple Mac computers.
Big Up takes the expertise and equipment to the participants in their own environments and communities. From here the fun begins as all participants get a chance to work behind and in front of the camera.
